Zoom App Terms of Use

1. Introduction

Welcome to the DFICU Zoom Connector (the “App”), provided by DFICU Universities (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the App and any related services, content, or functionality made available through our websites (collectively, the “Services”). By installing, authorizing, or using the App you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not install or use the App.

2. Who can use the App

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use the App. If you use the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. Authorization & Zoom Integration

The App integrates with Zoom and uses Zoom’s OAuth / API to access account data necessary to provide functionality (scheduling meetings, joining sessions, syncing calendar events, etc.). By authorizing the App you grant DFICU Universities permission to access the Zoom account information requested during the OAuth flow.

You are responsible for reviewing the Zoom consent screen and any permissions requested before you authorize access.

4. Permitted Use

The App is provided to enable DFICU course delivery, meeting scheduling, and administrative workflows. You may use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Prohibited uses include any unlawful activity, interference with the App or other users’ access, reverse engineering, or attempting to access data that you are not authorised to view.

5. Data, Privacy & Security

  1. Data we collect: When you use the App we may collect information such as your name, email address, Zoom meeting metadata, meeting recordings (only when you explicitly enable/permit this), calendar events, and other information needed to provide the Services.
  2. How we use data: We use the data to provide and improve the App, to send notifications, to respond to support requests, and for security and analytics. We do not sell your personal data.
  3. Storage & security: We take commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no internet transmission or storage is 100% secure.
  4. Data sharing: The App will share data with Zoom as necessary to provide integration features. We may also share data with service providers who support our Services (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under contract.

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App, including source code, designs, text, graphics, and trademarks, remain with DFICU Universities or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App except as expressly permitted by us in writing.

7. Third Party Services

The App may link to third‑party services (including Zoom). Your use of third‑party services is subject to the third party’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of third‑party services.

8. Support, Updates & Maintenance

We may provide updates, patches, or new versions of the App to fix issues or add features. We are not obligated to provide support, but we do offer support as described on our Apps Support page (see below).

9. Warranties & Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, DFICU Universities disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DFICU Universities will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the amount paid by you to DFICU Universities for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or where no payment was made, an amount of ₦50,000.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DFICU Universities, our officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your use of the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for security reasons. On termination, any licenses granted to you will cease, and you must stop using the App.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will post the updated Terms to https://dfuniversity.org/terms and/or https://dficu.com/terms and indicate the effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and or that of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria and or United Kingdom as the university has the final right to choose which countries law should be applied.
